Scalpel – for cutting the label to expose screw holes on the base of the unit.

Long thin Philips screwdriver – to remove screws holding the unit together.

Side cutters – wire cutting and stripping.

Soldering iron, high quality solder and flux.

Shrink tube – to enclosed battery unit.

Hot air gun – to apply shrink wrap.

Voltmeter – capable of measuring voltages 0 – 5 volts or similar.
